Kisharon provides vital support for hundreds of people with learning difficulties and their families. The services, located over seven sites, cater for the needs of the learning disabled at every stage of their lives – from a nursery and school, right through to residential services and work opportunities. Kisharon provides support for each individual to develop their potential and live a fulfilling life within the community.
Kisharon’s unique ethos centres on education and preparation for independent living for those with learning difficulties and complex needs. Its nursery achieved “Outstanding” from OFSTED and brings together children with wide-ranging abilities – those with special needs play and make friends with mainstream children with great success. The nursery provides a variety of personalised support including speech, physio and occupational therapy. Its day school focuses on life skills, experiences and opportunities to prepare young people for involvement in the community. Kisharon seeks to view life through the eyes of those with learning difficulties treating each as a person, not a disability. HabAid are proud to be patrons of Kisharon.
